Participating in this Chinese event helps kids understand a lot more.
Martial arts is a key part of Chinese culture, known not just for fighting skills but also for their deep connection to history, and tradition. In China, martial arts—called wǔshù—developed thousands of years ago for self-defense. Over time, they became more than just physical techniques.Beyond training, martial arts are a form of cultural expression. They appear in traditional performances, stories, and famous Chinese films. Today, they are practiced worldwide for health, self-defense, and preserving culture.
These activities teach kids more about Chinese culture. Every 2 weeks, we create a small event for kids to join and participate. Starting off with a trivia question, to a small dance or introduction of the day's event, then a craft related to the event, and a movie. And don’t worry! If kids get hungry, we have snacks prepared for them like popcorn!
So martial arts are more than combat—they reflect the spirit, wisdom, and history of Chinese culture. And this event can teach us kids a lot about Chinese culture to understand traditional and historical events.
